VirtaMed awarded as a top employer in SwitzerlandMay 17, 2018
VirtaMed AG was named one of the top 15 employers in the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Switzerland 2018’ study carried out by Great Place to Work®. This is exceptional for a company participating in the study for the first time.
The award ceremony, hosted in Zurich on Thursday May 17th, 2018, gathered together companies of all sizes from all industries whose employees rate their companies as having an especially trustworthy, appreciative and attractive workplace culture.
VirtaMed has fostered a passionate and agile working environment since the company was founded in 2007. This is the first time that VirtaMed has entered the Great Place to Work® survey, and it is an honor to be recognized among the top Swiss employers. It is remarkable that a company entering the survey for the first time would receive such good responses to be ranked in the top 15 Swiss medium-size employers.
“As a company we are proud to lead our industry in our core values of customer orientation, agility, passion, diversity and inclusion,” said Raimundo Sierra, Co-CEO at the award ceremony. “Our team continues to grow, now over 100 employees, and we share our work culture with a global network of freelancers, consultants and partners that we closely work alongside,” added Melanie Aregger, COO.
Members of VirtaMed’s team regularly gather together in an open working group to discuss their working environment. Research Engineer Carolyn Mattes-O’Brien notes, “the whole team is invited to give inputs on the topics that matter to them and this means we discuss and act on a huge variety of topics, from our employee diversity to the look and feel of our office space!”
The evaluation was based on an anonymous survey of VirtaMed’s employees on central workplace topics such as trust, identification, team spirit, professional development, remuneration, health support and work-life balance. The quality of HR and management measures within the company was also evaluated by the Great Place to Work® institute.
“The award stands for trustworthy management that works respectfully and fairly with employees, for a high level of employee identification with their company and for strong team spirit,” says Michael Hermann, CEO of Great Place to Work® Switzerland.
Over 90% of VirtaMed employees responded to the survey, with 100% stating that they are “proud to tell others I work here”, and 97% agreeing with the statement that “taking everything into account, VirtaMed is a great place to work”.
VirtaMed’s Human Resources Manager, Michèle Bölke, is especially pleased to be recognized by Great Place to Work®, remarking “during the interview process we try to give candidates the maximum exposure to life at VirtaMed. With this award, we see that our new team members are fully integrated and aligned with our work environment.”
