Martina Vitz, PhD
VP of Training & Education
Martina leads VirtaMed's Training & Education team, which is here to help you make the most of your simulator in your training courses and workshops. We know that a simulator alone isn't enough to make an impact in medical education, and we believe that curriculum integration is a key success factor for supporting trainers and trainees in delivering competency-based programs. You can count on us to support you as you find out more about the evidence-based capabilities of simulation.
Martina was for many years a consultant for VirtaMed, simultaneously the Director of the Laparoscopic Training Center in Zurich, and Accreditation Board Member of the Network of Accredited Skills Centers in Europe. Martina enjoys contributing to academic papers on the efficacy of simulation training, and seeing the positive impact that simulation has on the learning curve. With a PhD in applied physics, specifically for doppler imaging in ultrasound, Martina worked in commercial roles for several medical device companies before applying her technical knowledge to training & education.
Often arriving for training workshops by bicycle, Martina has many ways to keep fit ready for winter skiing and summer kite-surfing.
