We strive for advancing medical education and improving the quality of patient care.
VirtaMed partners with international organizations that focus on medical education and surgical simulation. Our joint commitments embed simulation to some of the most innovative specialty organizations around the globe.

AFC

Founded over a century ago, the French Association of Surgery (Association Française de Chirurgie) consists of more than 2000 visceral surgeons from across France. The Association partnered with VirtaMed in 2020 to deliver a laparoscopic training initiative across French University Hospitals.

AGA

The Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (Gesellschaft für Arthroskopie und Gelenkchirurgie, AGA) is a scientific association of physicians and companies active in arthroscopy. AGA has more than 3’700 members and is thus Europe’s largest professional society for arthroscopy. The Executive Committee of AGA includes physicians from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

American Society for Reproductive Medicine

Introduced in October 2015 at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Annual Scientific Congress, the ASRM Embryo Transfer Simulator has been successfully used at embryo transfer simulation workshops and training sessions from Alabama to Helsinki, garnering positive response from the hundreds of physicians and healthcare professionals who have experienced working with the Simulator.

Arthroscopy Association of North America

The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) is an Accredited Council for Continuing Medical Education approved organization which exists to promote, encourage, support and foster through continuing medical education functions, the development and dissemination of knowledge in the discipline of arthroscopic surgery. Their exclusive and preferred partnership with VirtaMed was established in 2018.

International Society for Hip Arthroscopy

Officially formed in Paris (France) in May 2008, ISHA’s Founding Members represent but a few of the many individuals around the world who are interested in this evolving area of hip surgery. ISHA’s role is to provide a focal point for its further development, to be a Society whose vision is to be the premier international society for education and research in arthroscopic hip surgery.

SSH

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) seeks to improve performance and reduce errors in patient care through the use of simulation. The society has been established in 2004 by professionals using simulation for education, testing, and research in health care. SSH fosters the improvement and application of simulation–based modalities such as human patient simulators, virtual reality, standardized patients and task trainers.

STAN Institute

Comprised of experts in Human Factors and Organizational Behavior, the team at the STAN Institute draw on decades of experience as pilots and in advanced flight simulation. Since 2015 they have trained more than 2000 surgeons and nurses worldwide.
