Interview with Rick Hoedt

Rick, what made you choose VirtaMed as an employer?
"There were many factors that contributed to me choosing VirtaMed. The chance to progress
my career was important but mostly the chance to go back to what I enjoy doing, customer
focused sales. I saw - and see - great potential in the products we design and develop and I
want to be a part of the push to make VirtaMed the industry leader in medical simulation."

What is it like to work with the team?
"Working for nearly a decade at a large multinational organisation, the change to a small
team was interesting, however I can say I have fully enjoyed it. The whole team greeted me
with open arms and I am continually impressed by the drive to achieve one goal: creating
the most realistic medical simulators in the world. The support we give each other is
amazing, be it while working late at night or during a team event, and whilst we have a very
diverse group of individuals we are certainly one team."

Describe for us a typical day in Rick Hoedt's work life!
"At the moment a lot of my time is spent getting VirtaMeds name and excellent products
out into the market place. This involves a lot of phone calls, emails and setting up meetings
at conferences or ad hoc. I’m also maintaining existing customer relationships we have and
managing projects that are ongoing. I am continually trying to improve my medical
knowledge as well. As you can imagine, these things pretty much take up my day, but I
always try to find time to join the team for lunch or a game of table fussball!"
