As the simulator family and the VirtaMed team grew bigger, we started looking for more office space – and found it, in Zurich at Badenerstr. 141.

The new offices offer a lot of space. The simulators HystSim, TURPSim and ArthroS got their own showroom, the hardware department has enough space for tools, spare parts and prototype tests, and the developers have more room for thoughts and creative ideas.
The team can now gather in a break room, have some good coffee and nice conversations, and the table soccer finally found the perfect spot to give everyone a timeout after long hours of concentrated work.
But who are the new team members? Here is a short overview of the latest VirtaMed employees, we are more than happy to have them on board!
Carolyn O'Brien, Hardware Engineer
 |
Our “rocket engineer” Carolyn studied Aerospace Engineering at MIT in Massachusetts, after which she came to Zurich to study Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich.
Shifting her focus to medical and rehabilitation engineering, she wrote her Master's thesis on the use of electrode arrays in Functional Electrical Stimulation with the Neuroprostethis Control Group. |
Alexandre Proietti, Software Engineer
 |
Alexandre Proietti received his engineering degree in computer science at the University of Technology Belfort-Montbéliard (FR) in 2010. During the two last years of his studies, he focused on image processing, virtual reality and human–computer interaction.
Before joining VirtaMed, he worked on a nuclear dismantling simulator for the “Commissariat à l'énergie atomique” (CEA) in France.
