In February 2011, VirtaMed started a pilot project at its reference center University Hospital Zurich - giving surgical training a fun gaming character.

After two hours of practical training guided by PD Dr. Michael Bajka, the course participants had the possibility to train on the HystSim simulator for one more month - on their own.

What motivated all of them to repeat case after case until they reached bestmarks?

Each new "patient" case has to be unlocked by a good score. If the trainee only reaches one or two stars, the case can be repeated as many times as desired to gain the three possible stars.
